About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide continuous remote observation of patients across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise from a centralized monitoring location
- Use the NAME TeleSitter Solution telemonitoring system to observe multiple patients, up to 15–20 at a time
- Verbally redirect patients over a digital two-way audio device
- Alert or summon nursing staff through the alarm system or Vocera when intervention or assistance is required
- Maintain visual observation and prioritize simultaneous situations
- Participate in hand-off of pertinent patient information and behavior at shift changes
- Arrange meal breaks and notify staff before leaving the monitoring station so constant observation is maintained
- Provide patients with explanations as necessary without counseling or providing opinions
- Comply with corporate and departmental policies, quality assurance methods, safety codes, and regulatory requirements
- Communicate professionally with patients, customers, coworkers, management, and peers
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma/GED
- General knowledge of hospital settings
- Ability to monitor up to 15 patients on one screen and prioritize simultaneous situations
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset
- Ability to communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes
- Discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff
- Basic computer operation skills
- Basic Microsoft Windows experience
- Compliance with licensing, regulatory, and accrediting agency provisions as required
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 10 pounds
- Frequent grasping and reaching
- Compliance with required personal protective equipment and annual influenza prevention program
- Preferred: previous hospital environment experience
- Preferred: previous clinical experience
- Preferred: previous direct patient care experience
- Preferred: Nurse Assistant/Medical Assistant Certification
