About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting
- Assess health status and complete nursing assessments
- Perform telephone triage and establish care plans
- Administer medications and treatments
- Initiate CPR and other emergency measures
- Notify physicians and/or Licensed Independent Providers of abnormal findings
- Assist with specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and patient-care equipment
- Develop, evaluate, adapt and document health education for patients and families
- Cover other nursing roles within the department
- Travel within the region to support physician clinics and surgical procedures as needed
- Collaborate with endoscopy caregivers on procedures and patient outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- One year of recent experience as an RN
- LPN, Medical Assistant and/or other unlicensed clinical healthcare experience may substitute for RN experience only for specified current Cleveland Clinic caregivers transferring into eligible ambulatory RN roles
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Corrected hearing and vision within normal range
- Ability to follow Standard Precautions and use required personal protective equipment
- Ability to work under Light Work physical requirements
- Required to comply with annual influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption
- Employment offers followed by controlled-substance testing
