About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information
Identify medication changes and update allergy information
Collect specimens and perform tests
Document patient care
Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas
Perform filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
Float periodically to other orthopedic locations, averaging once per week to CC Main Campus
Work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, with potential evening and weekend coverage
Work Saturday mornings once during the fall season for fall sports

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduate from an approved medical assisting program OR military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)
Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; must obtain during the new-hire period if not already held
Medical Assisting certification preferred
Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship preferred
Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision
Ability to perform Light Work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
Comply with controlled-substance testing following an employment offer
Comply with the annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption
