About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist with screenings and treatments by gathering and updating health-maintenance information
- Identify medication changes and update allergy information
- Collect specimens and perform tests
- Document patient care
- Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition
- Maintain equipment, medical supplies, and examination areas
- Perform filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration
- Float periodically to other orthopedic locations, averaging once per week to CC Main Campus
- Work Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm, with potential evening and weekend coverage
- Work Saturday mornings once during the fall season for fall sports
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate from an approved medical assisting program OR military training as a hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W), or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1)
- Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; must obtain during the new-hire period if not already held
- Medical Assisting certification preferred
- Successful completion of a Cleveland Clinic externship preferred
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
- Good visual acuity through normal or corrected vision
- Ability to perform Light Work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently
- Follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required
- Comply with controlled-substance testing following an employment offer
- Comply with the annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption
