About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, direct, implement, and evaluate educational offerings for nursing staff
- Identify learning needs and desires of nursing personnel
- Develop and use evaluation systems to determine the effectiveness of educational activities
- Consult with Nursing Institute, Ambulatory Nursing, Cleveland Clinic Health System, and community stakeholders regarding professional nursing practice and roles
- Assist in developing department-specific orientation and competencies
- Assist departments with staff orientation
- Develop and maintain a cataloging system for tracking and retrieving teaching-learning resources
- Support the Critical and Progressive Care departments, teams, and caregivers at South Pointe and Marymount Hospitals
- Provide evidence-based information to educate caregivers and support optimal patient outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)
- Two years of recent nursing experience
- Demonstrated clinical expertise, including clinical nursing experience
- Experience as a preceptor
- BCLS or ACLS instructor experience
- Knowledge of education methodology, including needs assessment, curriculum development, instructional design, and adult learning principles
- Presentation skills
- Preferred: Master's degree
- Preferred: Certification in specialty
- Preferred: Two years of recent inpatient critical care experience in ICU, ED, or PACU
- Ability to meet physical requirements, including extensive standing and walking, full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination
- Ability to follow standard precautions and use required personal protective equipment
- Required to comply with Cleveland Clinic’s influenza prevention program, including annual vaccination or an approved exemption
