About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation
  • Perform 12-lead Electrocardiograms, Holter Monitor Hook-Ups and Cardiac Stress Testing, including 24-hour, 48-hour, and 30-day event monitors and/or EEG testing
  • Notify physicians, nurses or managers of abnormal results
  • Notify secretaries of needed supplies
  • Maintain/troubleshoot equipment and notify Clinical Engineering of ongoing problems that cannot be resolved
  • Process test results before and following physician interpretations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of EKG techniques, methods, equipment and peripheral devices sufficient to provide technical support
  • 6 months experience as an ECG tech and six months experience in Stress Testing preferred
  • Completion of a Cardiac Technician and/or EEG program preferred
  • Credentials as an Allied Health Professional preferred
  • Hand dexterity sufficient to handle ECG equipment and Holter monitors
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • May be required to lift up the 25 pounds.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
