About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement patient treatment following evaluations by a Physical Therapist
  • Discuss possible changes in the treatment approach with the supervising therapist
  • Assume responsibility for the care, safety and well-being of patients during assigned acts
  • Observe all necessary precautions and procedures in the use of equipment
  • Provide appropriate documentation for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policy and procedures
  • Maintain and care for all equipment and apparatus
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of the department
  • Provide appropriate billing for each patient visit in accordance with departmental policy and procedures
  • Assist in training ancillary personnel

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited school of Physical Therapy Assisting
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the state of Florida
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Internship experience
  • Strong understanding of various rehabilitation techniques and exercises
