Donor Procurement Coordinator – RN, RRT, EMT
Cleveland ClinicAs Donor Procurement Coordinator, manage organ offers and evaluations for transplant at Cleveland Clinic. Coordinate procurement and ensure compliance with standards while training staff.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate activities related to the receipt of organ offers for transplant
- Evaluate organ offers for suitability
- Arrange procurement of organs and transplant set-ups
- Comply with OPTN/UNOS requirements for post-transplant documentation
- Serve as the contact for potential offers from procurement organizations
- Organize the procurement and dispatch team
- Coordinate transportation of organs
- Assist in training organ preservation caregivers
- Develop and present professional education programs
- Obtain, analyze, and report data on potential donors
- Attend selection committee meetings
- Enter data into the transplant database
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field OR a degree/diploma from an accredited Nursing School, Respiratory Therapy Program or Paramedic Program
- One year of experience as an organ procurement coordinator OR clinical experience in critical care or in the field of organ procurement/transplant
- Maintain valid licenses and required certificates (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic)
- Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) is preferred
- Previous transplant or organ procurement experience
- Related healthcare experience
- UNOS/UNET experience and knowledge
