About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Coordinate activities related to the receipt of organ offers for transplant
Evaluate organ offers for suitability
Arrange procurement of organs and transplant set-ups
Comply with OPTN/UNOS requirements for post-transplant documentation
Serve as the contact for potential offers from procurement organizations
Organize the procurement and dispatch team
Coordinate transportation of organs
Assist in training organ preservation caregivers
Develop and present professional education programs
Obtain, analyze, and report data on potential donors
Attend selection committee meetings
Enter data into the transplant database
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field OR a degree/diploma from an accredited Nursing School, Respiratory Therapy Program or Paramedic Program
One year of experience as an organ procurement coordinator OR clinical experience in critical care or in the field of organ procurement/transplant
Maintain valid licenses and required certificates (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic)
Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) is preferred
Previous transplant or organ procurement experience
Related healthcare experience
UNOS/UNET experience and knowledge
