About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Secure philanthropic gifts through a process of identifying, qualifying, strategizing, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects.
Manage a team of development professionals, volunteers, Leadership Board members and administrative activities.
Set vision and implementation strategies for the generation of philanthropic funds for Cleveland Clinic priorities.
Promote collaboration between staff.
Provide leadership for the effective and efficient operation of assigned responsibility.
Achieve significant dollar goals; lead the success of campaigns for capital, programmatic, research, endowment and operating support for Cleveland Clinic.
Lead overall management of the area and supervise assigned employees.
Establish a program of personal visits with past, current and prospective donors, as appropriate.
Ensure that donors are properly advised as to the financial options available, projects and needs.
Develop funding proposals.
Act as a leader that is ultimately accountable for complete transfer of funds, property, etc. to Cleveland Clinic.
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree
Ten years of progressively responsible experience in fund raising, direct solicitation and capital campaign environment, including management experience
Demonstrated success and experience in fund raising strategies for donor cultivation and direct solicitation
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Ability to manage a diverse central service team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
