About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supports pharmacy services within the Taussig Cancer Center
  • Serves a high-volume oncology patient population across inpatient, outpatient infusion, decentralized, and remote care settings
  • Engages in order verification, direct provider support, sterile compounding oversight, and advanced pharmacy technology
  • Rotates through responsibilities including remote and floor-based order verification, real-time clinical triage, and provider collaboration
  • Provides in-pharmacy operational support and oversees IV robotics
  • Engages in chemotherapy product verification and ensures quality assurance of sterile medication preparations
  • Cross-trains into inpatient oncology staffing and decentralized clinical coverage for broad professional development
  • Participates in a rotating day-shift schedule and weekend shifts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire
  • For individuals required to administer immunizations, Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in administration required within 90 days of hire
  • Board Certification (preferred)
  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience (preferred)
  • Post-graduate year 2 residency (PGY2) or relevant experience preferred for Clinical Pharmacists hired in Specialized Pharmacy practice area (Oncology) (preferred)
  • Hospital experience in an IV/clean room environment strongly preferred
