Provide genetic counseling, risk assessment, information, and support to individuals and families affected with genetic disorders, as well as those who may be at risk for inherited conditions
Coordinate genetic testing and disclose results to patients and referring providers
Assist clinicians with processes related to genetic testing and perform duties related to result interpretation (for laboratory genetic counselors)
Serve as educators and resources for trainees, other health care professionals, and the general public
Engage in research activities related to the field of medical genetics and genetic counseling
Work a flexible hybrid schedule, 8:00am – 5:00pm, with two clinical days per week primarily based at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus or satellite location
Maintain compliance with IRB and department research standards
Present at case conference, journal club, or similar meetings and supervise genetic counseling students during rotations
Attend multidisciplinary care meetings, grand rounds, and/or tumor board meetings
Requirements
Master’s degree from an accredited genetic counseling training program
Certified or certification-eligible from American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
Must obtain ABGC certification within one year of date hired
Clinical rotations as part of genetic counseling training program
Licensed or license eligible from Ohio Medical Board
