About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide strategic and operational leadership for pharmacy prior authorization, revenue integrity, and medication access initiatives across both pharmacy and medical benefit spaces
- Oversee a large, growing team with direct and indirect reports
- Drive efforts to improve reimbursement outcomes by analyzing claim denials and identifying trends
- Implement solutions that enhance financial performance
- Optimize workflows and standard operating procedures
- Develop performance metrics
- Approve high-cost medication purchasing
- Support contracting and payment strategies
- Lead programs that ensure patient access to medications through drug replacement and free drug programs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced degree: PharmD, Master of Science or Master of Business Administration
- Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in the current state or within 90 days of hire
- Three years of management or supervisory experience with direct reports
- 10 years in an equivalent role within a health system environment may substitute the advanced degree requirement
- Residency-trained (preferred)
- Experience in a large, tertiary care medical center (preferred)
