Evaluate and conduct prescribed physical therapy treatment programs
Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions
Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care while involving the patient and/or their family
Perform therapy interventions for bones, joints, muscles and tendons tailored to patients' unique needs and health backgrounds
Supervise activities of Physical Therapy Assistants, students and other caregivers
Create a healing atmosphere that enhances the Cleveland Clinic treatment experience and provide patient-first healthcare
Work alongside passionate caregivers and provide highly specialized outpatient orthopedic care
PRN scheduling: minimum of 2 8-hr shifts per month, up to 40 hours/week based on staffing and volume needs
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or certificate
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred: Five years of physical therapy experience
Preferred: Experience in a clinical area
This is a PRN position: work a minimum of 2 8-hr shifts per month with a maximum of 40-hrs per week based on staffing/volume needs
Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling
Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor
Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program
Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse
Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors
Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families
Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment
Must follow personal protective equipment and standard precautions as required
All offers of employment are followed by testing for controlled substances and nicotine; new caregivers must clear a nicotine test within their 90-day new hire period
Must comply with Cleveland Clinic Health System influenza prevention program (annual influenza vaccination or approved exemption)
