About the role
- Lead the operational performance, safety, and reliability of assigned wind assets.
- Establish and execute standardized operating procedures and a comprehensive risk management framework to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset efficiency, output, and profitability.
- Oversee and optimize Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Maintenance Management Systems to support best-in-class operations.
- Partner with senior leadership to ensure alignment with commercial agreements, risk mitigation strategies, and performance objectives.
- Lead the management and negotiation of operational contracts, including service agreements and vendor relationships.
- Represent the company on joint venture and operating committees for co-owned assets.
- Provide leadership and direction to internal teams and contractors, fostering a high-performance, accountable, and safety-focused culture.
- Manage, coach, and develop direct reports, including goal setting, performance management, and career development planning.
- Design and evolve the operations organization to support growth and scalability of the renewable energy portfolio.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and senior leadership to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
- Lead the long-term strategy for self-performance of the wind fleet, including workforce planning and transition from third-party operators.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in operations leadership within the utility or energy industry.
- Demonstrated experience managing geographically dispersed assets, including operations, maintenance, performance optimization, and outage management.
- Experience in wind, solar, geothermal, gas generation, or related energy technologies.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to translate technical expertise into actionable business outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
