About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a local on-site program and company representative to residential customers
- Educate power utility customers on Energy Waste Reduction
- Install basic energy-efficient equipment
- Inspect customer homes for insulation, air sealing, and HVAC equipment
- Make recommendations for saving energy and money
- Provide technical advice, guidance, and training on installation, adaptation, configuration, or enhancement according to client specifications
- Provide input and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning, and product effectiveness
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues using technical expertise
- Educate customers about home construction and HVAC equipment
- Travel throughout a defined territory
- Maintain equipment and company vehicle
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–3 years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Comfortable using computers and various software
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate’s Degree with relevant industry technical certification/training preferred
- BPI Certified preferred
- Professional customer service approach
- Organized and able to maintain equipment and company vehicle
- Good driving record
- Ability to climb ladders up to 10 feet
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Ability to conduct basic residential energy-efficiency upgrade installations; training provided
- Ability to provide technical advice and training; training provided
- Experience or interest in learning about home construction and HVAC equipment
- Ability to travel throughout a defined territory
- Ability to work a variable schedule
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- Must pass pre-employment checks
