About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a local on-site program and company representative to commercial customers.
  • Conduct energy efficiency HVAC Maintenance Tune-Ups, pre- and post-installation verifications for Incentivized Energy Efficiency Projects, and other technical inspections across a defined territory.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and audits of commercial energy efficiency upgrades to HVAC systems, lighting systems, and other mechanical installations
  • Perform pre- and post-installation inspections to verify proper implementation and performance of energy-saving measures
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory to perform inspections, with frequent overnight travel
  • Evaluate HVAC Tune-Ups and other system upgrades for compliance, performance, and safety
  • Provide detailed feedback and status updates to program staff regarding project scope, planning, and effectiveness
  • Operate and manipulate mechanical HVAC equipment to enable functional testing with technical equipment
  • Accurately take airflow measurements on HVAC systems

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical certification/training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of HVAC or equivalent mechanical experience, with familiarity in lighting systems, controls, and energy efficiency technologies
  • EPA Type-Universal certification preferred but not required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assess a variety of systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other software platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
  • Ability to work in all climates and commercial environments.
  • Ability to safely use and climb extension ladders up to 24'
  • Sit, stand, walk, crawl, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently
  • Use repetitive hand motion and lift, carry, or push up to 50 pounds regularly
