About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule, coordinate, and execute transportation of inbound and intra-facility materials and goods through the Supply Chain
- Execute daily shipments
- Coordinate with third-party carriers and utilize the private fleet
- Support manufacturing, distribution and components operations, procurement, and transportation partners
- Manage truck, rail, and ocean inbound and intra-facility delivery networks
- Analyze orders and plan shipments using TMS
- Resolve daily shipment exceptions
- Evaluate the legality of current and proposed transit infrastructure
- Assist with bids for transportation projects
- Recommend acceptance, rejection, or modifications for proposed plans
- Recommend modifications to improve efficiency, reduce environmental impact, reduce cost, and implement other improvements
- Support Logistic Network Modeling and make recommendations based on analysis
- Draft reports outlining findings and recommendations as needed
- Support driver and equipment utilization
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), preferably Oracle or another leading TMS such as JDA/Blue Yonder, Oracle OTM, Manhattan, or MercuryGate
- Experience with tactical supply chain planning processes, including carrier capacity planning, transportation planning, and network planning
- Experience with transportation management, carrier management, fleet management, and driver management
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Logistics Management, or at least five years of related experience
- Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Customer First mindset
- Thorough understanding of FMCSA Compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and office productivity machinery
- Ability to communicate via phone, email, and in person
- Ability to exchange accurate information with others
- Willingness to travel as needed
