About the role
- Operate and monitor AI-based weapon detection and access control systems at hospital entry points
- Engage with patients, visitors, and staff in a professional and empathetic manner during screenings
- Respond to system alerts, conduct secondary screenings, and escalate incidents as required
- Provide clear directions and reassurance to those entering the facility
- Maintain accurate incident logs and system performance records
- Collaborate with healthcare staff, security teams, and law enforcement
- Follow infection control and hospital safety protocols
- Contribute to a culture of respect, inclusivity, and safety within the hospital
Requirements
- Must reside in Kentville or nearby, NS
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Ability to work 12-hour rotational shifts (days/nights)
- Valid Security License (Nova Scotia regulations)
- Standard First Aid & CPR (CSA Approved) certification
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and respond quickly to incidents
- Experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or access control (preferred)
- Strong conflict de-escalation and customer service skills (preferred)
- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) (preferred; company training available with 6-month commitment)
- Comfort with AI-based security systems (preferred)
