Conduct deep user research, including user interviews, surveys, and usability testing to inform design direction.
Design and prototype intuitive and scalable digital experiences, from initial concept through to implementation.
Create UX artifacts such as user personas, journey maps, wireframes, and interactive prototypes to communicate design intent.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, AI, etc.) to ensure solutions meet both user needs and business objectives.
Influence product strategy by leveraging research insights and aligning UX best practices with business goals.
Be part of the Strategic Innovation team working on Project Nexus to unify and elevate the student experience across platforms.
Engage regularly with internal product, technology, AI teams and external users for research and stakeholder alignment.
Operate in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment with opportunities for professional growth and strategic impact.
No direct reports but expected to influence team culture and mentor peers informally; role blends hands-on design and strategic research.
Full-time permanent; primarily core business hours with flexibility for global time zones; hybrid position requiring 2–3 days/week on-site and commutable to Ann Arbor, Alexandria or Philadelphia offices.
Requirements
At least 7 years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing strategic design thinking and hands-on product design.
7 years of experience conducting user research (surveys, interviews, usability testing, etc.) and translating insights into actionable design improvements.
7 years of experience creating core UX artifacts such as wireframes, journey maps, interactive prototypes, and design systems.
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools including Figma and Illustrator.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Psychology, or equivalent relevant experience.
(Preferred) Experience working on early-stage innovation or product discovery teams.
(Preferred) Background working with internal and external users in both B2B and B2C contexts.
(Preferred) Strong communication and storytelling skills to engage cross-functional stakeholders.
(Preferred) Familiarity with AI-enabled design or education technology products.
(Preferred) Master’s degree in HCI, Design Strategy, or a related discipline.
