About the role

  • Provide filing & prosecution support through docketing and paralegal services to customers
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders in a virtual, highly matrixed and global environment
  • Support new team members with process training, query support, and quality checks
  • Maintain customer dockets and run reports; correspond internally and externally regarding deadlines and application status
  • Process incoming and outgoing domestic and international communications in IP management software
  • Routinely review and file prosecution-related documents with the USPTO for all stages of prosecution
  • Coordinate and facilitate timely instructions to foreign agents for non-US trademark prosecution deadlines
  • Manage, create and maintain documents for customers (scan, file, retrieve, send requested documents, file intakes and transfers)
  • Prioritize docketing/de-docketing requests and facilitate timely filing of applications and responses
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of domestic and international intellectual property office rules and procedures
  • Assist in establishing policies and procedures to ensure quality improvement and meet customer expectations
  • Document and track daily work in time-tracking system within prescribed deadlines and SLAs
  • Liaise with all areas of the business as defined to meet customer expectations and service levels

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 1+ years of trademark docketing experience
  • Experience in Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Memotech, Foundation IP, The IP Management System, Inprotech, or IPFolio (3+ years preferred)
  • U.S. and foreign patent docketing, filing & prosecution experience (preferred)
  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program (a plus)
  • Position subject to U.S. export control requirements under the EAR and ITAR
