About the role
- Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure ensuring high availability, performance, and security
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation pipelines using tools like Ansible, CDK, and AWS CodePipelines
- Manage, monitor, and optimize core AWS services (EC2, ECS, ECR, VPC, ELB, Route 53, WorkSpaces, VPN, RDS, DynamoDB, DMS, S3, Glue, Athena, IAM Identity Center, Organizations, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudTrail, Systems Manager, AWS Backup, Certificate Manager, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch Events, API Gateway, Lambda, X-Ray, Cognito)
- Ensure proactive monitoring and incident response with tools such as CloudWatch and Splunk
- Support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows with Github, Bitbucket, and AWS pipelines
- Manage data and analytics pipeline tools like Airflow and Tableau
- Oversee DNS and domain services
- Enforce security best practices including anti-virus, MFA, and secure file transfer solutions
- Partner with engineering, analytics, and product teams to improve developer experience, reliability, and scalability
- Support sandbox AWS accounts and infrastructure for testing and development
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or systems engineering (60+ months)
- Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services (EC2, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, ECS/ECR, Lambda, Secrets Manager, etc.)
- Proven experience automating infrastructure and deployments (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, CDK, Terraform/CloudFormation, CodePipeline/CodeBuild)
- Skilled in containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS)
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response (CloudWatch, Splunk, Alert Logic)
- Familiarity with data and analytics tools (Glue, Athena, Tableau, QuickSight, RDS, DMS)
- Solid understanding of security, compliance, and identity management (WAF, MFA, IAM Identity Center, KMS, CloudTrail)
- Strong background in networking, DNS, and VPNs (Route 53, VPCs, DNS management)
- Comfortable working in multi-account AWS Organizations and managing sandbox environments
- Experience supporting backend and user-facing application platforms at scale
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Self-starter, able to thrive in remote/distributed teams
- Relevant industry certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer) are desirable
- Must be based in or able to work standard business hours in the Pacific Time zone
