About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell web-based software to local governments within the assigned territory
  • Meet or exceed assigned territory goals
  • Forecast business within the territory in a timely and accurate manner
  • Work directly with lead-generation, account management, technical, and support staff to manage the totality of the buying cycle
  • Generate new opportunities through a variety of prospecting activities within new logo accounts
  • Maintain excellent documentation; attention to detail in reporting is essential
  • Aggressively close new business through short- to mid-length sales cycles
  • Develop consultative and trusted-advisor relationships with local governments within the assigned territory
  • Lead and assist in presentations for new account acquisition
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support team and company success

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong persuasive, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, social sciences, or a related field, or comparable experience
  • A collaborative team player who works well cross-functionally
  • A results-oriented professional who is driven to win
  • A commitment to continual personal development and supporting the development of others
  • Ability to travel frequently and efficiently across a large geographic territory with minimal downtime between travel periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when needed for activities such as tradeshow setup
  • Ability to work at a computer and monitor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to manage multiple detailed tasks simultaneously with accuracy and within required timeframes
