About the role

  • Play a key role achieving keep, grow, and get objectives within the local government sector.
  • Foster strong relationships with existing and prospective customers; act as a customer champion and trusted advisor.
  • Engage with customers by making outbound calls to check account health and uncover new opportunities.
  • Drive growth focusing on retention, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities within the business unit.
  • Build credibility and trust with key customer stakeholders.
  • Manage opportunities in Salesforce including forecasting, pipeline growth, opportunity progression, and account reviews.
  • Understand customer needs and identify solutions that meet their goals and challenges.
  • Stay market-aware by keeping up to date on competitor products and services.
  • Collaborate with marketing to support campaigns and initiatives to generate interest and drive sales.
  • Nurture the sales pipeline ensuring active engagement, progression, and timely closure of opportunities.
  • Adapt responsibilities over time as the sales environment shifts.

Requirements

  • Proven track record in sales account management and new business prospecting.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce for managing pipeline, forecasting, and opportunities.
  • Experience in application software and services sales.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Target-driven – takes full ownership and accountability for achieving results.
  • Ambitious and resilient – action-oriented, tenacious, positive, and determined to succeed.
  • High attention to detail – methodical and consistent in compiling quotes and proposals.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while seeking guidance when needed.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of stakeholders.
