About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work across our multidisciplinary consultancy team, with a primary focus on digital and data-driven analysis through automated processes
- Contribute analytical expertise to projects in digital strategy and digital planning
- Conduct robust modelling, data analysis, and research to support the digitisation of planning
- Build data and analytical pipelines (in Python) to automate key modelling workflows
- Develop robust, tested code that meets internal standards
- Prepare clear and compelling reports, technical outputs, and presentations for clients
- Collaborate with internal specialists across transport, energy, digital and systems modelling
- Support delivery of consultancy projects to time, quality and budget
- Respond flexibly to evolving project needs across the wider consultancy team
Requirements
What you’ll need- A PhD in Maths, Computer Science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Environmental/Climate Sciences, or similar analytical fields)
- Experience building automated data pipelines and workflows using Python
- Ability to write tested code in line with software engineering best practice
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems
- Strong understanding of statistical and algorithmic methods of analysis
- A genuine interest in decarbonisation, net zero, and sustainable planning
- Excellent communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and concisely
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs at pace
- Experience working in a consultancy environment or in roles involving technical analysis for sustainability, energy, digital, or carbon-related topics (desirable)
- Familiarity with modelling tools, digital innovation, or carbon accounting frameworks (desirable)
