About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work across our multidisciplinary consultancy team, with a primary focus on digital and data-driven analysis through automated processes
  • Contribute analytical expertise to projects in digital strategy and digital planning
  • Conduct robust modelling, data analysis, and research to support the digitisation of planning
  • Build data and analytical pipelines (in Python) to automate key modelling workflows
  • Develop robust, tested code that meets internal standards
  • Prepare clear and compelling reports, technical outputs, and presentations for clients
  • Collaborate with internal specialists across transport, energy, digital and systems modelling
  • Support delivery of consultancy projects to time, quality and budget
  • Respond flexibly to evolving project needs across the wider consultancy team

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A PhD in Maths, Computer Science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Environmental/Climate Sciences, or similar analytical fields)
  • Experience building automated data pipelines and workflows using Python
  • Ability to write tested code in line with software engineering best practice
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems
  • Strong understanding of statistical and algorithmic methods of analysis
  • A genuine interest in decarbonisation, net zero, and sustainable planning
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and concisely
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs at pace
  • Experience working in a consultancy environment or in roles involving technical analysis for sustainability, energy, digital, or carbon-related topics (desirable)
  • Familiarity with modelling tools, digital innovation, or carbon accounting frameworks (desirable)
