About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work across our multidisciplinary consultancy team, with a primary focus on digital and data-driven analysis through automated processes
Contribute analytical expertise to projects in digital strategy and digital planning
Conduct robust modelling, data analysis, and research to support the digitisation of planning
Build data and analytical pipelines (in Python) to automate key modelling workflows
Develop robust, tested code that meets internal standards
Prepare clear and compelling reports, technical outputs, and presentations for clients
Collaborate with internal specialists across transport, energy, digital and systems modelling
Support delivery of consultancy projects to time, quality and budget
Respond flexibly to evolving project needs across the wider consultancy team

Requirements

What you’ll need

A PhD in Maths, Computer Science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Engineering, Physics, Environmental/Climate Sciences, or similar analytical fields)
Experience building automated data pipelines and workflows using Python
Ability to write tested code in line with software engineering best practice
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly understand complex systems
Strong understanding of statistical and algorithmic methods of analysis
A genuine interest in decarbonisation, net zero, and sustainable planning
Excellent communication skills, able to present complex information clearly and concisely
Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outputs at pace
Experience working in a consultancy environment or in roles involving technical analysis for sustainability, energy, digital, or carbon-related topics (desirable)
Familiarity with modelling tools, digital innovation, or carbon accounting frameworks (desirable)
