About the role
- Focus efforts on producing reports related to strategic intelligence.
- Be responsible for producing strategic intelligence reports and developing data visualizations in Microsoft Power BI.
- Include data modeling and transformation using a variety of data sources.
- Lead analysis activities as well as extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) within large-scale projects.
- Participate in the implementation and maintenance of the City’s data management capabilities.
- Act as the lead subject matter expert at all levels of the design, creation and maintenance of strategic intelligence.
- Conduct research, architecture, design, development, adaptation, enhancement or integration of large-scale applications or solutions for assigned clients in response to new or changing operational requirements.
- Update these applications or solutions and provide technical support to clients.
Requirements
- University or college diploma completed after three years of study in information management, information technology or a related discipline.
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in application design or integration, including experience writing applications that include databases and providing related support.
- This experience must be based on the use of strategic intelligence reporting tools, such as Power BI, using a variety of data sources.
- Administration of Power BI.
- Power BI geospatial analysis capabilities.
- Data gateways.
- Design and creation of dataflows.
- Modeling as well as extraction, transformation and loading of dimensional data using dataflows.
- Providing technical support and guidance related to prototyping, testing, design and launch of products built with Power BI.
