About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Performs moderately complex management or oversight activities for daily operations of an operating unit or functional program
  • Develops guidelines, procedures, rules and regulations
  • Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others
  • Ensures accuracy, accountability, and efficiency in enforcement actions
  • Manages quality and accuracy in reporting
  • Provides training and ensures all code enforcement personnel are properly certified
  • Serves as the acting official departmental representative to other City departments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Four (4) years of experience in interpreting and/or enforcing city, county, state, or federal codes, business/public administration, policy implementation, regulatory compliance, legal or paralegal work, urban planning
  • Two (2) years of supervisory/project management experience
  • Valid and current driver's license with good driving record
  • Certification as a Registered Code Enforcement Officer within six (6) months of appointment
