About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Director of Residential Lending
- Maximize mortgage lending production in the assigned area
- Grow mortgage market share and establish new bank customers
- Drive cross-selling, pipeline management, recruiting, compliance, training, and direct-report development
- Manage strategic partnerships to maximize residential lending production for Mortgage Bankers and Loan Production Assistants
- Grow, retain, and cultivate a diverse and effective sales team across the assigned market
- Oversee business integrity and coordinate mortgage loan officer activities
- Drive productivity through sales initiatives and market strategies
- Develop sales plans to grow and retain real estate product and service customers
- Manage sales processes and coach Mortgage Bankers to deliver an exceptional client experience
- Implement policy changes in the assigned area
- Analyze staffing needs, evaluate direct reports, and support professional development
- Recruit qualified Mortgage Bankers and maintain a recruitment pipeline
- Oversee the mortgage pipeline, upfront loan process, and quality file submission procedures
- Meet assigned market production budget goals and minimum production standards
- Provide continuing education and roll out strategic initiatives
- Manage Mortgage Banker capabilities and sales systems to maximize cross-sell efforts
- Collaborate with internal and external business partners on sales strategies
- Establish partnerships with Retail, Wealth, and Commercial lines of business
- Respond to escalations and promote a collaborative, inclusive work environment
- Assess and manage business risks under the CNB Risk Management Framework
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, regulatory guidelines, and Fair Lending requirements
- Ensure direct reports complete required compliance training on time
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8-10 years of experience originating residential mortgages
- Effective communication skills, including transmitting, receiving, and interpreting ideas, information, and needs
- Knowledge of sales principles, processes, techniques, and tools
- Ability to develop strategic, future-oriented sales plans aligned with business strategy and market opportunities
- Knowledge of residential mortgage instruments and their application
- Knowledge of and ability to sell banking products and services
- Ability to identify prospects and create opportunities to sell financial solutions
- Customer experience management skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- Equivalent combination of education and/or relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Compliance with bank policies, regulatory guidelines, and Fair Lending requirements
- Mortgage banking knowledge covering markets, products, pricing, laws, compliance, regulations, practices, competitors, technology, and industry issues
