About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as the technical design authority for the Salesforce platform across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Financial Services Cloud
Lead pro-code development using Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, SOSL, Platform Events, asynchronous processing, and Visualforce remediation
Own and continuously improve Salesforce DevOps, including Salesforce DX, Git branching, CI/CD pipelines, metadata governance, static code analysis, automated testing, and sandbox lifecycle management
Define and enforce release management, environment strategy, deployment automation, rollback procedures, release documentation, and separation-of-duties controls
Perform and approve design and code reviews for internal and vendor-delivered work
Design and govern Salesforce integration architecture with enterprise integration platforms and core banking, identity, and data platforms
Partner with Salesforce administrators on data model, sharing, visibility, security architecture, profiles, permission sets, field-level security, encryption, and least-privilege access
Monitor and tune platform performance, query efficiency, governor-limit consumption, and integration throughput
Maintain and drive a technical debt remediation roadmap
Provide technical leadership for Marketing Cloud development, including data extensions, AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript, Journey Builder, and Marketing Cloud integrations
Contribute to platform roadmaps, delivery planning, solution options, estimates, and sequencing
Evaluate Salesforce seasonal releases, nCino upgrades, AppExchange packages, and new platform capabilities
Identify automation opportunities to improve operational stability, observability, and supportability
Direct vendor, contractor, and systems integrator technical work and review deliverables
Establish technical documentation, architecture diagrams, ADRs, integration specifications, runbooks, and developer onboarding materials
Represent Salesforce in the Enterprise Architecture Committee and governance forums; respond to audit, risk, and examination inquiries
Provide licensing, tooling, environment, effort, budgeting, and capacity estimates
Advise the Product team on nCino Loan Origination System technical design, extensions, integrations, upgrades, and regression testing
Establish and govern AI-assisted development practices, including approved generative AI tools, human review, prompt standards, and data-handling controls
Lead and develop a team of Salesforce developers and enforce engineering standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

8–10 years of hands-on software engineering experience, including a minimum of six years designing and building on the Salesforce Platform in a pro code capacity (Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and platform APIs)
5–7 years of experience as a technical lead or architect for a Salesforce org of comparable scale and complexity
Experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a team of software developers
Hands-on Salesforce DevOps experience with Salesforce DX, Git branching and merge strategy, automated CI/CD pipelines, static code analysis, and automated test frameworks
Experience delivering Salesforce integrations to enterprise systems of record through an API management or integration platform
Demonstrated professional use of AI-assisted development tooling such as Claude Code or a comparable generative AI coding assistant
Hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud development experience, including AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript, SQL activities, data extensions, Journey Builder, and Marketing Cloud APIs or Marketing Cloud Connect
Experience in banking, financial services, or another regulated industry
Hands-on experience with Financial Services Cloud and nCino, including configuration and pro-code extension of the nCino Loan Origination System and management of nCino release upgrades
Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
Salesforce Certified Application Architect, or underlying Data Architect and Sharing and Visibility Architect certifications
Salesforce Certified System Architect
Salesforce Certified JavaScript Developer I
Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Developer
Salesforce Financial Services Cloud Accredited Professional
nCino platform certification, such as nCino Certified Professional
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent education and related training
