About the role
- Under supervision of the Director of Programs & Strategic Initiatives, responsible for day-to-day operational management of activities and functions in the Resident Services program area
- Developing, implementing and evaluating program delivery, procedures and standards
- Monitoring program budgets
- Assisting supervisor in determining program service levels and enhancements
- Interpreting and complying with all applicable regulations
- Identifying and developing funding opportunities
- Providing relevant advice and supervision to clerical, technical or professional staff, the public, and other agencies
- Implement core program/service components and oversee progress toward program outcomes at all assigned sites
- Supervise and manage appropriate Resident Services staff in the delivery of programs/services and the evaluation of outcomes
- Collect and use program data as a tool for program supervision, evaluation, and improvement
- Participates in the annual Resident Services budget process
- Identify, develop, and maintain networks and partnerships with relevant service providers, community and religious organizations, business and educational institutions
- Facilitate effective working relationships between Resident Services and Property Management staff at all assigned sites
- Assist in the development and implementation of Resident Services policies and procedures
- Recommend, develop and/or provide Resident Services related training and other staff development resources for Resident Services staff
- Identify and secure funding for Resident Services programs and initiatives
- Track and meet grant compliance requirements and prepare and submit all required reports in a timely manner
- Collaborates with housing development staff working on new projects or acquisitions to determine plans for Resident Services and to provide input on physical plan decisions
- Conduct regular visual safety audits at all assigned sites to ensure the safety of residents and staff
- Actively recruit volunteers and manage the Resident Services volunteer program
- Actively participate in regional meetings related to Resident Services
- Participate in Affordable Housing advocacy
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Commitment to the mission of the organization
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Social Work, Sociology, Education, etc.) or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years’ management experience; preferably in the nonprofit field
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with ability to lead a team and achieve results
- Experience in budgeting, supervising programs, and program evaluation
- Excellent internal and external communication skills, including public speaking, presentation and writing skills
- Demonstrated relationship-building skills; possesses solid judgment, critical thinking skills, and a sense of teamwork and community
- High proficiency in all areas of Salesforce, Adobe, SharePoint, Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Must hold a valid CA Driver's License and current automobile insurance.
