Key responsibilities & impact

Overseeing all financial reporting and analysis functions
Ensuring financial statements are accurate and timely
Identifying trends in financial performance and providing recommendations
Reviewing all documentation to develop and improve internal controls
Managing quarterly tax provisions and annual income tax returns
Creating and maintaining financial reporting calendar
Coordinating with finance team to review information and forecasts
Monitoring changes in accounting standards and ensuring compliance

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (4-year degree)
More than ten (10) years of experience directing and overseeing financial accounting and financial reporting in a public company environment
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a senior financial leadership position
Life insurance or banking industry experience is required
Five (5) or more years of experience with SEC filings; XBRL experience is required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor preferred
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities
Proficiency in financial software tools (e.g., Oracle, Workiva, Clearwater)
Proficiency with SharePoint and Microsoft Office products, including mastery level in Excel.
