Key responsibilities & impact

Establish policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistency and alignment of operational risk management across the organization
Influence and guide businesses in risk-related decision-making
Oversee the development and implementation of risk monitoring programs
Lead the reporting and presentation of operational risk status, trends, and key developments to the board, regulators, and other key stakeholders
Stay informed of regulatory changes
Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations
Engage with key stakeholders to ensure integration of operational risk management practices
Leverage technology and innovation for continued enhancement of risk management processes
Inspire people with a compelling and aspirational future vision
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made.

Requirements

What you’ll need

15+ years of experience
8-10+ years' managerial experience
Robust understanding of operational risk management frameworks, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation practices
Understanding of banking products and services and downstream impacts of operational risk strategy
Proven experience managing complex risk assessments, designing risk mitigation strategies, and overseeing compliance with operational risk frameworks
Demonstrated leadership in partnering with the business and senior management to address operational risk issues and implement solutions
Experience interacting with Regulators and Internal Audit
Ability to influence across cultures at a senior level, understanding how to operate effectively across diverse businesses
Ability to think strategically and align operational risk management with organizational goals and regulatory obligations
Ability to manage and drive change within the organization
Outstanding communication skills
Robust analytical problem-solving abilities and a high level of integrity to deal with highly confidential data.
