About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

partner with multiple technology teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals
identify and define necessary system enhancements
analyze existing system logic, identify problems; and recommend and implements solutions
Provides expertise in area and an advanced level of understanding of the principles of apps support
Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex, high impact application enhancements and problem resolution through in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex business processes, systems and industry standards; documents requirements
Works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Systems Analysts to determine and document Systems impacts and support requirements
Considers the implications of the application of technology to the current environment
Identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues; communicates impact; proposes risk mitigation options
Acts as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts; allocates work
Provides in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
Directly impacts the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services.
Appropriately assesses risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Requirements

What you’ll need

10+ years Proven and practical experience of in a production support role managing enterprise-level applications
Demonstrated experience with SRE practices, including advanced monitoring, alerting, incident response, post-mortems, and driving automation for operational efficiency and system reliability
Deep expertise in Unix/Linux environments and advanced Shell scripting
Proficiency with enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., ITRS Geneos, AppDynamics) and log aggregation platforms (e.g., Splunk, ELK)
Practical experience with containerization platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes)
Hands-on experience with relational (Oracle, MSSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases
Strong knowledge of messaging solutions (e.g., Tibco EMS, MQ, Kafka)
Experience working with REST APIs
Solid understanding of distributed application architecture, including networks, load balancers, storage, and authentication (AD/LDAP)
Working knowledge and practical application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and principles
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, models, and tools, coupled with practical experience in leveraging AI-driven tools to support and optimize applications
Demonstrated leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and relationship-building abilities
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to diverse technical and business audiences
Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including experience leading or contributing to requirement gathering efforts for multiple large development projects, always maintaining a service-oriented approach.
