About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and architecture of complex, scalable systems with a significant focus on Cloud, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions
- Develop, document, and communicate a strategic technical vision and roadmap to business and technology stakeholders
- Create clear and detailed architectural diagrams, models, and other documentation using tools like Visio
- Act as a technical leader, providing mentorship, guidance, and influence to engineering teams and other architects
- Proactively research, identify, and solve complex technical and business challenges with innovative solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural alignment and the successful delivery of projects
- Executes the architectural vision for all IT systems through major, complex IT architecture projects; ensures that architecture conforms to enterprise blueprints
- Develops technology road maps, while keeping up-to-date with emerging technologies, and recommends business directions based on these technologies
- Provides technical leadership and is responsible for developing components of, or the overall systems design
- Translates complex business problems into sound technical solutions
- Applies hardware engineering and software design theories and principles in researching, designing, and developing product hardware and software interfaces
- Provides integrated systems planning and recommends innovative technologies that will enhance the current system
- Recommends appropriate desktop, computer platform, and communication links required to support IT goals and strategy
- Exhibits good knowledge of how own specialism contributes to the business and good understanding of competitors products and services
- Acts as an advisor or mentor to junior team members
- Requires sophisticated analytical thought to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations
- Impacts the architecture function by influencing decisions through advice, counsel or facilitating services
- Guides, influences and persuades others with developed communication and diplomacy skills
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years relevant experience in a technical architecture role
- Demonstrated ability for high-level strategic thinking and maintaining a proactive, forward-looking mindset
- Natural leadership qualities with a track record of mentoring teams and influencing technical decisions across an organization
- Exceptional and clear communication skills, with experience in managing and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Deep expertise in cloud technologies (AWS is highly preferred), with relevant certifications considered a strong plus
- Strong experience with or a deep professional focus on Generative AI, Agentic AI, and associated tools
- Proficiency in creating technical diagrams and architectural artifacts using Visio or similar tools
- TOGAF certification is a plus
- Experience within the financial services industry is a plus
- Experience with fraud detection systems, authentication, authorization, or Single Sign-On (SSO) is a nice to have
