About the role
- Provide legal guidance and thought leadership to the business
- Timely negotiation and preparation of ISDA Master Agreement and other markets trading documentation
- Conduct due diligence to determine enforceability of agreements
- Legal support across various practice areas while assessing business risk
- Management of trading documentation and data systems
- Liaise with control and functional business for initiatives
- Provide analysis to resolve complex situations
- Collaborate with legal peers to evaluate business proposals
- Participate in business planning and development initiatives
- Proactively identify and manage legal, regulatory, and reputational risk
Requirements
- 6-10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services
- Banking or financial industry experience, including laws related to banking regulations
- Knowledge of international laws, regulations and practices while staying abreast of regulatory and legal environment
- Experience with complex deals
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and relationship management skills
- Proven ability to apply sound judgement while managing assignments in a demanding, fast-paced environment
- Bar license in good standing to practice law
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree
