About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead cross-portfolio validation efforts for integrated Cisco solutions aligned to strategic priorities
- Define validation scope, success criteria, evidence requirements, and repeatability expectations
- Bring structure to ambiguous requests and evolving priorities
- Build, configure, test, and troubleshoot complex lab environments reflecting real customer deployment scenarios
- Partner with product managers, TMEs, Architectural Sponsors, field architects, sales teams, and Cisco Validated peers
- Ensure validation outcomes are technically credible and field-relevant
- Identify integration gaps, product limitations, operational considerations, and readiness concerns
- Produce technical evidence, lab notes, configuration artifacts, test results, known issues, and documentation inputs
- Mentor developing TMEs and external partner resources
- Set technical direction, review evidence quality, and reinforce repeatable validation practices
- Support Cisco Validated Designs, proof motions, integrated solutions, case studies, briefs, and reference architectures
- Translate technical findings into assets for sales teams, architects, partners, and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- 12+ years of hands-on technical experience designing, implementing, validating, troubleshooting, or supporting complex technology environments
- Experience in networking, security, cloud, collaboration, automation, or adjacent infrastructure technologies, with depth in at least one major technical domain
- Experience leading technical work across cross-functional stakeholders, including product, engineering, field, sales, or customer-facing teams
- Experience translating ambiguous technical or business objectives into scoped validation plans, evidence requirements, findings, and field-ready outputs
- Located in San Jose, CA, Raleigh, NC, or Atlanta, GA
- Ability to work in the office 2–3 days per week
- Broad technical fluency across the Cisco portfolio
- Knowledge or experience in secure networking, routing, switching, wireless, segmentation, policy, assurance, observability, security architectures, cloud, data center, AI infrastructure, collaboration, digital resilience, lab validation, performance testing, interoperability testing, evidence capture, and technical documentation
- Preferred: ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Preferred: excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Preferred: deep knowledge of the Cisco portfolio and hands-on experience across multiple Cisco technologies
- Preferred: experience with AI infrastructure, GPU cluster networking, high-performance fabrics, workload connectivity, or secure AI architecture
- Preferred: experience validating, designing, deploying, or supporting integrated solutions
- Preferred: ability to communicate technical findings through documentation, deployment guidance, reference architectures, and validation proof assets
