About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set the technical direction and strategy for the C++ testing ecosystem
- Develop how engineers build, test, and ship software
- Design reusable testing frameworks, libraries, and developer tooling
- Integrate quality gates into CI/CD pipelines to provide fast, actionable feedback
- Build platforms exposing test coverage, flaky-test trends, and pipeline health metrics
- Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams
- Promote engineering standards and drive alignment without formal authority
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Expert-level C++ skills
- Experience using Python or similar languages for developer tooling, automation, and test infrastructure
- Record of designing and maintaining reusable test frameworks or developer tools adopted by multiple engineering teams
- Expertise with C++ testing and mocking frameworks such as GoogleTest, Google Mock, Catch2, or comparable technologies
- Proficiency with build systems and dependency management tools, including Bazel, CMake, or similar technologies
- Experience integrating automated testing and developer tooling into modern delivery workflows
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized environments, and microservices-based architectures
- Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Experience using observability and diagnostic tools
- Deep understanding of software design for testability, including dependency injection, interface design, deterministic testing, isolation, and automation standards
- Track record of influencing engineering standards and driving technical adoption across teams
- Effective communication with technical partners
