About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with executives and leadership teams to develop communication strategies and roadmaps
  • Identify strategic communication opportunities aligned with business objectives
  • Support high-impact communications for time-sensitive situations
  • Create messaging for diverse audiences, including speeches, keynotes, presentations, articles, and multimedia content
  • Help executives refine presentation skills, communication style, and stakeholder engagement
  • Collaborate with PR, Marketing, Product, Analyst Relations, Sales, and other functions
  • Design and implement broadcasts, roundtables, social media, events, and other communication vehicles
  • Establish effectiveness metrics and refine communication strategies based on feedback and results
  • Translate technical complexity and AI and IT initiatives into compelling narratives for internal and external audiences
  • Position Cisco as a trusted leader and authentic innovator in the AI and IT landscape

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 6+ years of experience with executive communications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Journalism, or related field
  • Demonstrated success creating content that engages employees, customers, partners, and/or external stakeholders
  • Strong visual and written communication skills
  • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and related tools
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality execution
  • Ability to distill complex strategies and technical information into clear, impactful messages
  • Ability to operate effectively with senior leaders in a fast-paced, complex environment
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical delivery and adapt as needed
  • Experience in IT or technology is a plus
  • Experience using AI tools to scale impact, drive efficiency, and enhance communications is preferred
  • Knowledge of Cisco products and/or the enterprise technology landscape is preferred
