About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop software consistent with Cisco ‘Design Thinking Principles’
  • Create technical design documentation and user documentation
  • Debug and address software issues during development and in production systems
  • Write functional, clean code and unit tests for scalable control planes
  • Lead small-to-medium features from design to completion
  • Perform coding, debugging, and troubleshooting in production environments
  • Work independently to execute the defined software engineering roadmap
  • Provide technical support and guidance for enterprise automation tools

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency in Python for developing backend services, APIs and automation frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Argo Workflows/CD
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and virtualization platforms, such as OpenStack, VMware, or Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, and modern software development practices
