About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive product reliability and innovation by bridging semiconductor expertise with system-level design
- Ensure component excellence through proactive failure analysis, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration
- Lead complex investigations into semiconductor component issues
- Utilize expertise in power sub-systems, clocking/timing, and system-level integration to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Leverage advanced data analytics to evaluate component field reliability and assess vendor quality
- Engage regularly with Cisco Business Units, internal design teams, and external suppliers to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in electronic design, field application, or failure analysis
- Demonstrated expertise in analog and digital electronic design and failure analysis
- Practical knowledge of power sub-systems, clocking/timing, and system-level integration
- Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience (preferred)
- Experience with analog and digital electronics, board design, circuit analysis, PCB layout, and hardware debugging (preferred)
- Strong understanding of discrete components and associated PCB attach technologies (preferred)
- Proven ability to drive failure analysis to resolve performance and quality issues in complex components and assemblies (preferred)
