About the role

  • Develop and support automated test solutions for next-generation client optical transceivers and sub-assemblies.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
  • Implement and validate automated optical test setups for client optics modules using Python or similar languages.
  • Integrate and program electronic/optical test equipment such as Source Meters, optical power meters, Bit Error Rate Testers (BERTs), and DCA.
  • Develop data acquisition and analysis scripts/tools to process large datasets, generate yield reports, and drive root-cause investigations.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot test solutions on manufacturing lines.
  • Work with design, firmware, and reliability engineers to define test requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Identify gaps in test coverage and propose enhancements to test methodologies, automation, and process efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, optical engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in test development for optical transceivers, photonics modules, or high-speed electronics.
  • Strong Python programming skills (other languages such as C#, LabVIEW are a plus).
  • Proficient with optical and electronic test instrumentation and automation (e.g., VISA, PyVISA, SCPI, GPIB, USB, Ethernet).
  • Familiarity with SQL databases for test data management.
  • Experience with GUI development (Tkinter, PyQt, or similar) is desirable.
  • Understanding of optical communications principles, fiber optics.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
