About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build the platform supporting ThousandEyes’ next 10x growth
Build robust and scalable data pipelines
Develop real-time enrichments for customers
Build microservices supporting business workflows
Provide architectural oversight and review to improve customer experiences and meet SLA targets
Design and build core Cloud and Enterprise Agents components for scalable, secure, and resilient cloud-native deployments
Partner with Product Management to understand requirements, estimate effort, and contribute to sprint and quarterly planning
Collaborate across teams to deliver end-to-end functionality and align integration points and infrastructure
Develop POCs and prototypes to explore ideas, validate technical approaches, and test performance
Mentor junior engineers through best-practice sharing, design reviews, and career support
Influence system design and guide implementation for high-quality, timely delivery at scale

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience, or Master’s degree plus 3 years of related experience, or PhD plus 1 year of experience designing, developing, and deploying enterprise software in production environments
3+ years developing, deploying, and managing large-scale cloud-native web applications using Java
3+ years building event-driven systems using message/streaming platforms such as Kafka, SQS, or SNS
Expert-level understanding of JVM-based languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala
Experience with enterprise build tools such as Maven or Gradle
Expert-level understanding of relational/SQL and non-relational/NoSQL datastores
Knowledge and use of Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, and GCP
