About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to strategic Service Provider partners
  • Architect end-to-end solutions addressing Tier 1 Service Provider business requirements
  • Build relationships with technical and business decision makers
  • Provide expert guidance to enable partners to sell and deploy Cisco technologies
  • Use modern AI tools to accelerate productivity and streamline workflows
  • Deliver innovative proof-of-concept solutions
  • Own the full project lifecycle from discovery through architecture, validation, POC execution, and technical close
  • Position Cisco architectures against competitive alternatives
  • Resolve technical objections at engineering and executive levels
  • Collaborate with the Account Executive and extended account team to translate architectural vision into account strategy
  • Lead end-to-end technical design for Service Provider routing, including IP Core, IP Edge, and Backhaul architectures
  • Guide customers toward Autonomous Network architectures with visibility, predictive analytics, and self-healing capabilities
  • Use 5G Mobility Core expertise to help partners modernize mobile infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or network architecture within the Service Provider sector
  • Comprehensive understanding of Cisco’s technology portfolio
  • Strong Service Provider acumen
  • Expertise in the Cisco IMI routing portfolio
  • Mastery of BGP, ISIS, OSPF, and Segment Routing
  • Proficiency in IP network automation
  • Good understanding of Ansible or other API-driven workflows
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with executive presence
  • Ability to build durable technical relationships at customer accounts
  • Active industry-recognized certifications such as CCIE, CCNP, or CCNA preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of 5G Mobility Core architecture, including SMF, UPF, and PCF preferred
  • Expertise in Routed Optical Networking and optical system design, including DWDM, Metro, and data center optics preferred
  • Understanding of network programmability, NFV, and containerization, including Kubernetes and Docker preferred
  • Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and lead technical strategy across diverse, cross-functional global teams preferred
  • Candidates located in or willing to relocate to the Seattle/Bellevue, Washington or Overland Park, Kansas areas
