About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Supports the development and implementation of a comprehensive operations strategy
Develops subject matter expertise on regulatory requirements associated with Alberta Regulation 194/2022
Develops and maintains productive relationships with contract partners
Collaborates with partners to refine the processes that enable commercial contract terms to translate into executable operational plans
Interfaces with other departments responsible for the financial aspects of the relationship
Monitors CM's relationships with key stakeholders within the collection and consolidation system
Helps oversee Common Collection System administrative and project specialists
Participates in the development of a well-researched and planned annual operations budget
Prepares accurate, timely and data driven reports

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree, college diploma or equivalent management experience in a related field is required
5+ years progressive experience leading recycling collection systems including contracts, operating standards, performance metrics and performance outcomes
Knowledge of procurement processes gained through demonstrated hands-on experience
Experience and/or knowledge of First Nations consulting and contracting practices and processes would be considered an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Visio, SharePoint, Teams, Excel and JIRA
Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills
Strong stakeholder management skills, including negotiation, persuasion, and collaboration.
