About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for all day-to-day financial accounting operations including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Invoicing and Collections, Payments to State & Local authorities, Bank Accounts Maintenance and Bank Accounts Reconciliation and Cash Management
- Establish all Financial Accounting policies and processes including training and job aid development/management
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, year-end accounting close
- Ensure all books are closed in time and financial information is available to senior leaders on time
- Overall leader for the Financial Reporting activities
- Own the Financial ERP system
- Lead all regulatory (State and Federal) reporting requirements
- Responsible for designing, developing, recruitment and managing a large organization of accountants
- Understand, design and develop appropriate internal controls and risk management policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA required
- Non-profit experience highly recommended
- At least 10+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience
- Through knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Good knowledge of internal controls, risk management and mitigation and ability to pivot to critical priorities
- Experience creating, analyzing, reporting financial statements
- Experience with Workday Financials highly preferred
- In absence of Workday Financials, strong experience across other financial systems and ability to quickly understand and master Workday Financials
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
