About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and operate infrastructure powering Circle’s blockchain platform at scale
Own reliability, performance, and automation of distributed blockchain systems across multiple public cloud environments
Operate and scale production blockchain infrastructure, including full nodes across Arc, Ethereum, Solana, Base, and other protocols
Design, build, and maintain highly available, secure Kubernetes platforms
Build and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and Infrastructure as Code
Develop AI-powered infrastructure automation for Kubernetes lifecycle management, IaC analysis, blockchain cost optimization, and MCP integrations
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize distributed systems
Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotation, incident response, and post-incident reviews
Partner with protocol, product, and security teams on network launches, upgrades, and business requirements
Mentor engineers, share SRE best practices, and contribute to architecture and reliability improvements

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
Experience in cloud-native or blockchain environments
Proven technical leadership in complex distributed systems architecture and design
Experience operating and troubleshooting blockchain nodes and distributed systems in production
Deep expertise in blockchain protocols and infrastructure demands
Deep expertise in Kubernetes internals and tuning for large-scale workloads
Strong Kubernetes experience, including Helm, RBAC, operators, controllers, and observability tooling
Experience building CI/CD pipelines, containerized workloads, and blue-green or canary releases
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Pulumi
Cloud networking fundamentals, including VPCs, DNS, load balancers, and secure connectivity
Proficiency in Go or Python
Experience managing SQL databases and stateful production services
Experience with agentic automation strategies and AI tooling in engineering workflows
Experience with observability and chaos engineering techniques
Experience mentoring engineers and scaling SRE best practices across teams
Strong engineering judgment, code quality, automated testing, and operational excellence
Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and communicate effectively across engineering teams
