About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform regular preventative and unscheduled/emergency maintenance on a variety of equipment associated with the production area
  • Keep equipment parts inventory list, order replacement parts as necessary
  • Detect and notify the Production Supervisor or Production Manager of questionable conditions and/or equipment that is not working properly
  • Work with outside vendors as necessary
  • Perform maintenance of building and grounds as directed
  • Perform all duties in compliance with USDA or FDA, OSHA and state and local regulations and company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and the use of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • A two-year degree or completion of a program in mechanical or industrial maintenance a plus
  • 5 + years’ manufacturing experience with strong skills in equipment repair and maintenance
  • Must possess knowledge of machine repair, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting and janitorial skills
  • Required to be familiar with and use hand tools and power tools necessary to perform those skills
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
  • Ability to comprehend verbal instructions and read machine specs, instruction manuals and product labels
  • Be reliable and dependable; available to work Monday through Friday and occasionally Saturday or Sunday
