About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop real-time data pipelines and solve big data problems using Spark, Python, Java/Scala, SQL, and AWS
- Write reliable, maintainable, well-documented, scalable code supporting millions of respondents
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
- Execute the full software development life cycle as part of an Agile team
- Collaborate with Product Managers to refine and modify requirements
- Follow established design paradigms and design patterns
- Perform unit testing and integration testing
- Participate in the on-call rotation to monitor shipped features
- Support business teams and product managers with data extracts and data analysis
- Develop software across user interface, business logic, data modeling and systems, and component integration
- Build analytics tools providing actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and business performance metrics
- Perform pull request reviews and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Develop and manage end-to-end ETL pipelines for real-time and batch processing
- Migrate large-scale datasets securely and efficiently from MSSQL environments to cloud-based data warehouses
- Engineer streaming architecture using SNS, Kinesis Data Streams, and Kinesis Data Analytics
- Enable real-time insights and schema-validated ingestion
- Use GitHub, SQL, REST APIs, and Jira
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Technology Management, or a closely related field
- At least 1 year (12 months) of experience as a software engineer or in a closely related occupation
- At least 1 year (12 months) of experience performing pull request reviews and CI/CD pipeline integration
- At least 1 year (12 months) of experience developing and managing pipelines for secure, efficient migration of large-scale datasets
- At least 1 year (12 months) of experience writing and optimizing complex, performance-oriented SQL queries
- At least 1 year (12 months) of experience engineering advanced data features/architectures for high-quality data delivery
- At least 1 year (12 months) of experience using GitHub, SQL, REST APIs, and Jira
- Experience with Spark, Python, Java/Scala, AWS, MSSQL, SNS, Kinesis Data Streams, and Kinesis Data Analytics
- Experience with ETL pipelines, real-time and batch processing, unit testing, integration testing, Agile software development, and CI/CD
- All experience may be gained concurrently
