About the role

  • Assesses patients, clients and families and recognizes normal parameters, deviations and abnormalities in physical, emotional, developmental and behavioral status as it relates to cardio-pulmonary needs using a family centered approach to care.
  • Plans and prioritizes care to meet patient, client and family needs.
  • Collects clinical data, utilizes decision trees and guidelines.
  • Matches formal knowledge with clinical events to make appropriate decisions.
  • Demonstrates competence in the implementation of the technical skills required for the care of the patients, clients and families according to CCHMC policies, procedures and standards.
  • Identifies goals and outcomes for health with the patient, client and family.
  • Directs interventions towards the attainment of goals and outcomes as it relates to cardio pulmonary health.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of care.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking by making appropriate care decisions and relating that information to the healthcare team.
  • Facilitates patient and family learning by providing structured education based upon the Plan of Care and patient and family needs.
  • Contributes and is receptive to the overall knowledge of the interdisciplinary team in meetings and rounds.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in related field or equivalent
  • 0+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • RT License, Registered RT, Graduate of CoARC approved respiratory care program
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • RT License, Registered RT
