About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and motivate Local Coordinators to make timely, high-quality placements and meet target placements within the assigned region.
  • Coordinate Local Coordinators and their schools when needed regarding student registration or enrollment.
  • Distribute student profiles to Local Coordinators as needed.
  • Train Local Coordinators to become as self-sufficient as possible using the resources provided to them.
  • Meet and/or exceed assigned target for student placements within established deadlines.
  • Use the resources provided to guide strategy for Local Coordinators in recruiting host families and guide LCs through creative outreach and marketing.
  • Oversee student and host family matching process in a designated region.
  • Ensure Local Coordinators have the necessary marketing materials.
  • Maintain and develop new high school relationships.
  • Provide Local Coordinators with host family recruitment tools, resources, and ongoing support and guidance through placements of students.
  • In collaboration with the Program Support Specialist, co-manage, lead, guide, mentor, and coach the Local Coordinators of the region.
  • Work closely with the Program Support Specialist to ensure all requirements and paperwork are compliant for placements.
  • Collaborate with the Training Manager to ensure Local Coordinators are fully trained and communicate areas of need as they arise.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing teams—especially in education, youth programs, or nonprofit settings.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and motivate diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and adaptable mindset, with a focus on problem-solving and results.
  • Experience with outreach, community engagement, or marketing strategies, especially for volunteer recruitment.
  • Familiarity with U.S. high school systems and/or international student exchange programs (preferred but not required).
  • Confidence using digital tools and platforms for communication, tracking, and training.
  • A passion for intercultural exchange and a deep commitment to youth development and global citizenship.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned region as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
