About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate feed mill equipment, including grinders, mixers, and batching/pelleting systems
Ensure product quality, safety requirements, and throughput targets in the assigned area
Conduct continuous inspections and monitor equipment
Record operating parameters and adjust machinery and equipment as necessary
Comply with regulations and complete required record keeping
Perform routine equipment maintenance, including greasing, inspections, and minor troubleshooting
Report mechanical issues
Maintain housekeeping, sanitation schedules, and the general appearance of the work area
Receive, handle, and move feed ingredients
Load and unload trucks
Prepare and manage loadout by opening hatches, attaching hoses, sampling, and ensuring accurate product delivery
Complete initial, ongoing, and supplemental training
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture
Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or escalate unsafe conditions
Collaborate with coworkers to support plant operations, solve problems, and identify improvement opportunities
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

1+ years of experience in operations, production, manufacturing and/or agriculture environments
Must meet minimum age requirement
Ability to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
High School diploma or GED preferred
Agriculture experience preferred
Forklift certification preferred
Ability to work independently for extended periods
Ability to work in confined spaces and hazardous environments
Ability to stand, walk, climb steps and ladders, and work at heights up to 120 ft.
Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.
Ability to wear required protective equipment, including respirators, hard hats, and eye and hearing protection
Ability to use automated and manual tools and equipment
Ability to shovel, sweep, load, unload, lift, and carry materials up to 50 lbs. frequently
Ability to work in noisy, dusty, and all weather conditions
Must pass required pre-employment screenings, if applicable
