About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain understanding of quality requirements for producing Ethanol, DDGs, WDGs, and ICO
- Perform routine testing on inbound, in-process, and finished products
- Conduct testing and routine maintenance on water treatment systems and make operational adjustments
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations
- Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or escalate unsafe actions or conditions
- Utilize laboratory equipment including HPLC, IC, GC, Cell Counter, IR, NIR, and titrators
- Troubleshoot laboratory instrument issues
- Perform additional testing as needed
- Participate in training to further product safety and quality knowledge
- Collaborate with plant leadership to identify and make final decisions on product quality challenges
- Adhere to feed safety and good manufacturing policies
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work overtime or holidays as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years of experience in Quality Management and/or Quality Assurance
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior Quality Assurance experience in food production or agriculture
- Prior experience in large-scale chemical or processing environments
- Experience with mobile equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and aerial lifts
- Experience with safety programs including Lock Out/Tag Out, confined space, line break, and chemical hazard communication/chemical hygiene
- Ability to work a rotating swing shift: 5 days on/2 days off followed by 2 days on/5 days off
- Ability to work 7:00 AM–7:00 PM day shifts and 7:00 PM–7:00 AM night shifts
- Ability to work holidays and overtime as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Selected candidates may be required to pass drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements, and FMCSA Clearinghouse screenings
